Movie review : The Golden Compass

So i just recently saw this movie . It released a long long time ago . Its based on the first novel in Philip Pullman's trilogy "His dark materials" . The movie is based in a parallel world where there are humans and each human has an animal companion known as 'daemons' and they are basically the soul of the humans . So if you harm the daemon you can harm the human . And if the human is killed the daemon turns into dust . The kids in this world have daemons that can shape shift and your daemons stop shape shifting when you grow up . And the evil people in this movie are called the majestarioum . They have a resemblance to the church and christianity and all that . And all this apparently caused some controversy in the real world . Anyway , The movie is a fantasy movie with a lot of interesting animations specially the polar bears . They have some interesting looking armour . Anyway the movie doesnt really have a proper end because its supposed to be a trilogy so u might be a little dissapointed . I'd give the movie 6.5/10 . If ur bored and happen to find this movie then watch it .

KD's Music Pick : Bryan Adams - "11"

Set to release on 17-03-2008 (in india i think) . Bryan adams is back with another one . The new album is called 11 with the new single "I Thought I'd Seen Everything" . I'm listening to it as i write this and i can say that it sounds like typical bryan adams . Same laid back music , same old sounding tunes , easy on the ears and perfect for a lazy day . Incredibly he managed to make them sound the same yet each different in their own way . Overall the album is decent . Songs i thought were good are "Oxygen " , " I Aint Losin' The Fight " , " Tonight We Have The Stars " , " I Thought I'd Seen Everything " . I like " Oxygen " the best . Get it from somewhere and listen to it if your one of the fans . And if you're not , then shame on you , start soon .

KD's TV Show Choice : South Park

South park is about the lives about 4 kids Cartman , Stan , Kyle and Kenny who live in a small town in Colorado,USA . Even though its a cartoon , dont be fooled by that because its the most racist , disgusting , shameless but overall freaking hilarious thing you'll ever see . Some episodes are really gross but when the funny one come along , you'll be laughing for a really long time . There have been over 11 complete seasons produced and the 12th one just started . The starting seasons are not that funny , but around season 6 the laughter begins . I have seen almost 7 seasons or something and its awesome . Mostly because of the cartman character because he is just 8 years old and he is the most shameless , disgusting , racist , fattest and self centered bastard in the show . But all in all by far , the best cartoon character ever made . This cartoon is definetly not to be viewed by any kids , because there is so much cursing and crazy stuff going on it'll screw up the kid forever . Even the cartoon itself says it , in the beginning of every episode there is disclaimer "...this cartoon should not be viewed by anyone " . It has won some emmy awards apparently so its quite popular . Anyway if you like cartoons and your pretty jobless check it out . But at your own discretion .

Movie Review : 10,000 B.C

If you want to see this movie , then dont read this review because the ending is revealed (big deal) .

Well i saw it . Even though i checked on imdb and the review was horrible and even though i read the newspaper and the review was horrible and even though i have a brain (well.... something like that) i saw it . Overall 5/10 . And the 5 is all because of the lead female in the movie (looks kinda nice) and also the computer generated Sabre tooth tiger (not bad actually) . The rest is too much to take in . Its like a hindi movie but worse . One day the hero is in the snowy mountains and then the next day he's in forest which is seamlessly integrated with the snow . And then from the forest to the desert in the next day! . Keeps on going with barely any food and water and he's chasing guys on horses who have his lady (the aforementioned "kinda nice" lady) . The ending is hilarious . She dies and then the hero start crying and apparently some kind of prophecy is fullfilled and she miraculously comes back to life . The only thing missing here was the hero's mother and sister also kidnapped with his lady in true filmy style . Anyway , go watch this movie at your own risk . I wouldnt recommend it .

And ofcourse added to the fact that its the most awesome college , i also happen to be in the one of the best departments there Information Science . Its the most chilled out dep. (atleast was a while back). But besides all that the college atmosphere rocks ; Great friends ; Nice places to hang out ; And ofcourse the occasional bird watching fiesta (it doesn't happen enought though) .
