"Where did we go?" Where else!

Well it finally happened . The zombies went on a trip (Zombies-2 actually).

Goa

What a place..

I don't know about anyone else but this trip was definitely a life changing experience for me . It wasn't so much about the things we did it was just the fact that it was us zombies together having fun. It was the first time i remember when i didn't think about anything else . No home no college no project nothing. Only living from one beach to the next . What a life. I think it was almost everyday when someone or the other mentioned "lets get a house here" .

I have been to beaches done the water sports and seen new places but none of that compares. This trip had something magical in it and like miss vodka said "its in the air of Goa".

23rd march. Train ride. Got to the station and like a genius a certain grass eating creature had already reached way ahead of time since he has great time sense. Me and the doggy arrived to see jhanam waving out along with rc and miss vodka. Then came "keep of the grass" walking from the other side. We got in and found that our seats were next to the loo which was certainly aromatic so we decided to shift to the other bogey . By this time mommy arrived along with her single friend and we all settled in our seats. One gandhi autographed note later and we were all sitting in the same place (except for one uncle next to our seats who was pretty accommodating). Jhanam's want for a "one sided tunnel" , people realizing why i am called freaky( i am not a mermaid!), playing speedo or 7 badam as mommy put it, some short lived pictionary, getting IPL updates, 20 questions game about people in BMS, mommy's drunken barrage of 'P' jokes which started from the realization of miss vodka's last name, then the inevitable f bomb from mommy and by that i mean the brazen use of camera 'F'lash to burn the retinas of people around, these were some of the things that took place on that night and finally sleep time.

24th march. Getting up time and now its off to room... what? another train ? oh man.. Bought tickets to thivim just in time as the train arrived. Sat in some perfectly legal seats. Two bus rides later we got of at la calypso hotel and our hotel was right behind it which was basically a house. Some bargaining later and we had two rooms on the first floor. Now then time to go find bikes.. lets get to the main road and.. boom 4 bikes at proper price 2 seconds later. High on spirits and fueled up, its time to go to shopping . Some unending "woh kahan hai" later we arrived at the flea market . Filled with foreigners getting thronged by sellers with "name your price my friend". Looked around for a bit and saw some shops as well :) :) The shopkeepers had standard prices, 350 for something decent looking and 250 for the rest. In the end things went for 80 to 150 bucks after some "nahi bhayia nahi chahiye" acting. After some light roasting in the sun we left for anjuna beach and some rc's famous wood oven pizza. Some backtracking later we arrived at the pizza shack(Guru bar restaurant) which had an amazing view of the sea and some much needed rest. After some grumbling about resting we left for chapora fort which is commonly known as DCH point. It was an unclimbable climb considering how tired we were. It was a broken down fort with just some broken walls but the view was nice . We could see different beaches which saved us some time in visiting them. The need for water led us down the fort and off to vagator beach after some much needed drinks. Interestingly enough we found a movie set and miss vodka had hopes of finding shahrukh khan. Some unintended wetness later we winded up the sunset evening with nine bar(which i kept hearing as lime bar until i saw the board, it made more sense before!). The DJ was decent and the dance floor was open which was good. After a dozen zombie moves we left for the hotel to change . Time to eat meant of to punjabi dhaba where there was IPL telecast which resulted in some betting (miss vodka conveniently forgot the actual amount). The day ended with baga beach where some devil horns were purchased and then sleep time at the hotel.

25th march. Knock knock.. what?!? Morning meant get up and eat food because it was time to go to aguada fort. The road was one of the nicest and we reached the top to find a preserved fort with a lighthouse. The view again was great and the sea looked wonderful. Some photos later we headed out for some coconut water where mommy bought a cowboy hat. The spontaneous decision of going to dolphin ride meant we found a guide to take us down behind his bus and some fake money back guarantees later we were on a boat to watch some dolphins . The dolphin chase was enjoyed by all and some short lived sight seeing later we were back on the road to sinquerim beach . "1200 bucks for 5 things sir" Hah! In 5 years buddy. The realization of camera memory full meant search for an internet cafe and some cd burning. The search for food let us to flamb-e where rc and doggy tried some fenny(feni) and Mr.4 stomachs had a vodka shot. After some energy refuel went back to the rooms to change for the awaited water sports . Stupid high winds meant it had to be postponed to the next morning. This meant back to rooms again and IPL was on with RCB match. This was where the brilliant 2:1 bet was made by miss vodka . After some relaxing we were off to baga beach for some beach sitting and fort making . Also some crazy video taking. Night time meant the highly acclaimed TITOs was on the zombie radar.

Well then. TITOs. I think it summarizes all that is Goa in all its glory. The events that transpired was like a movie scene where people played all the typical parts in the story . Lots of things happened and thats when it was implicitly decided what happens in Goa stays in Goa. I kind of have some regrets from that night, things that i could have done to make other things easier and things i should have realized but all in all a learning experience.

26th march. Get your sea legs on matey! Morning cometh and this meaneth its time for some water sports. Jet ski para sailing speed bump and banana boat ride. I must say i went in with some prejudice having done most of them but it turned out to be different. After some wave fighting left at 4 for the rooms to change and eat early lunch at 5 in the evening at the punjabi dhaba. The plan was back to rooms but rc found a karaoke place which meant another thing off the my bucket list . Some highly professional donkey braying later the night wound up on the beachside. With a heavy heart the zombies realised this was there last night in Goa and this brought the mood down a bit.

27th march. Lets stay for another night! The inevitable end day had arrived and the zombies woke up to some sad faces . The last beach side shack was brittos where a long brunch was had (and delayed as much as possible). Then back to rooms for final packing . One hour to leave, the ladies headed off to shopping and the guys stayed behind to loot all my money in poker. Then finally time to head out and wait for the bus which would have led to two other bus changes along with luggage. Luckily we found a taxi which took us straight to the station and we had 2 hours to burn which was spent looking at photos of things in the past. Time flew pretty fast and the train arrived which symbolized all that is evil in the world for taking us away from Goa. Back to bangalore back to reality was the thought on every zombies head as they slept for the final time in the train.

I'm glad for going through the experience. And i wont be assuming too much when i say this trip was a life changing experience for every zombie(-2). Next step back to Goa with the full might of the zombies! (and this time hopefully with the zombie t shirt)
